No...Thanks for reply, the message I sent, Rexisto.

Not because instead of being on the blog appeared in your mail, but never mind.

Reconstructions of Chinese sauropods usually based on Mamenchisaurus and therefore applied this model to Kunmingosaurus but apparently if this genre is less advanced than Shunosaurus, it is obvious that there is an error.

There are several sauropods in China or other countries, which are reconstructed based on a very poor material and not be described in a professional manner: Otogosaurus, Nurosaurus, or the same Kunmingosaurus Mohabosaurus for example.

A curious fact is that he had previously Monolophosaurus unofficially as Kunmingsaurus.Rexistohttp://www.pixagono.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3248412803814730250.post-44458487231971584842011-02-25T00:10:42.435-08:002011-02-25T00:10:42.435-08:00Hmm... someone left a comment, bvut it didn't ...Hmm... someone left a comment, bvut it didn't appear here (only in email). In case they didn't intend to delate it, Glut (1997) mentioning pelvic and other characters in his "Megacervixosaurus" entry is based on Zhao's (1983) diagnosis for Homalosauropodoidea, so do not indicate characters definitely known in "Megacervixosaurus".

The 11 meter length for Kunmingosaurus is based on lengths of the mounted skeleton from sites offering casts. Who knows how accurate it is, since we don't know how much of the vertebral column is preserved.

There are certainly characters diagnosing sauropods, but which characters depends on the definition used for Sauropoda. The latter has been defined as everything closer to traditional sauropods than to Plateosaurus, as Vulcanodon plus other sauropods, and a few things in between as well.Mickey Mortimerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08831823442911513851noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3248412803814730250.post-58351924839205717092011-02-23T10:26:42.739-08:002011-02-23T10:26:42.739-08:00Greeting
Megacervixosaurus
In the Encyclopedia o...Greeting

Megacervixosaurus

In the Encyclopedia of Glut say that apart from the cervical vertebra is a very robust pelvis and other bones, it will check the source.

Kunmingosaurus

Kunmingosaurus undoubtedly is a valid genus but I wonder if it really would measure 11 meters long, since normally the earliest sauropods are 10 times the length of your femur or less.

The Mamenchisauridae increase that proportion at just under twice, and I think Kunmingosaurus mistakenly has been reconstructed with the proportions of this family, which does not belong.

Chinshakiangosaurus

Thanks for the tip on the position and Gongxianosaurus Chinshakiangosaurus because until now there had obtained information on which of the two was derived. Indeed, there is no general agreement which was the oldest known sauropods. Some authors believe that it would Anchisaurus (Yates), others Antetonitrus (Gregory Paul), others Gongxianosaurus, among other possibilities. Is there a feature that separates the true sauropods of the other sauropomorpha primitive?Rexistohttp://www.pixagono.comnoreply@blogger.com
